Can I side just part of the house in metal?
Yes, and it is a common and effective approach — board and batten on the gable ends, a porch wall or a wainscot, with the rest left as it is. Done deliberately it looks like a design decision rather than a budget one.
Does metal siding dent?
Heavy gauge panel handles normal life. It is not indestructible — a ladder dropped against it will leave a mark, as it would on vinyl. The difference is that metal does not crack or go brittle in cold the way aged vinyl does.
Will it match my metal roof?
Exactly, if you want it to. Same Sherwin-Williams range for roof, wall, trim and gutter. A lot of our jobs are black on black for that reason.
Can it go over existing siding?
Sometimes, depending on what is under it and how flat it is. We would rather take the old siding off and see the sheathing than trap a moisture problem behind new metal.
Do you side barndominiums and post-frame homes?
Regularly — it is a large share of our new-construction work, particularly around Licking and Muskingum counties.
