Is my old house framed to take a metal roof?
Almost certainly, and with room to spare. Standing seam weighs a fraction of what slate does and less than asphalt shingle. If your house was ever slate-roofed, the framing under it is heavier than anything metal will ask of it.
Can metal go on a roof with a lot of valleys and dormers?
Yes, and it is where the install quality shows most. Every valley and every dormer is flashing and trim work done by hand on site. It takes longer and costs more than a plain gable, and it is worth asking any contractor to walk you through exactly how they intend to flash it.
Do you do metal siding as well as roofing?
We do — board and batten metal siding, on its own or matched to a new roof. On farm properties and additions it is often the more useful half of the job.
What happens to my landscaping during a tear-off?
We tarp and we clean up, including a magnet pass for nails before we leave. Tell us on quote day what matters to you in the beds and we will plan the staging around it.
