Why Seamless Gutters Matter
Gutters Are a Foundation Problem, Not a Roof One
Gutter gets treated as trim, and it is not. It is the thing standing between a roof’s worth of water and the ground six inches from your foundation.
Sectional gutter from a box store comes in lengths joined every few feet, and every joint is a seam that will eventually separate, leak and stain the fascia behind it.
Seamless gutter is rolled from a coil on site to the exact length of your run. The only joints are at the corners and the outlets, where they can be made properly.
Then it has to be hung right — pitched to the outlet, hangers at the correct spacing, downspouts placed for the actual water volume rather than for symmetry.
Sizing It Properly
A Steep Roof Delivers Water Faster
The standard five-inch gutter that comes on most houses is sized for an average roof in average rain. A lot of the roofs we work on here are neither.
A steep pitch delivers water to the eave faster than a shallow one. A long run collects more of it before it reaches an outlet. Valley concentrations dump a disproportionate share into one short section.
When any of those apply, five-inch gutter overshoots in heavy rain no matter how clean it is — and the water that overshoots goes down the wall and into the ground against the foundation.
So we size to the roof: six-inch where it is warranted, more downspouts where the run needs them, and discharge aimed away from the house rather than into the bed beside it.

Can you install gutters without doing the roof?
Yes. Plenty of our gutter work is standalone, on houses with roofs that are fine.
Five-inch or six-inch?
Six-inch where the roof is steep, the runs are long, or valleys concentrate water into a short section. Five-inch is adequate on a lot of houses. We measure and tell you which yours is.
Do you fit gutter guards?
We do, and we will tell you honestly whether yours is a house where they earn their cost. Under heavy tree cover they help considerably. On an open lot they mostly do not.
Will the gutters match my metal roof?
Yes — we colour-match the gutter, the downspouts and the trim to the roof so the whole edge reads as one line.
What if my fascia is rotten behind the old gutter?
We find that fairly often, because leaking sectional gutter is what rots fascia. We repair it as part of the job rather than hanging new gutter on bad wood.
