The signs are familiar enough: granules in the gutter, shingles curling at the edges, a stain on a bedroom ceiling that comes back every spring, and a patch bill every couple of years that nobody adds up.
What makes it urgent is what you cannot see. Once water is getting past the shingle it is working on the decking, and decking damage is the difference between a re-roof and a re-roof plus carpentry.
We will tell you plainly which side of that line you are on. If the roof has five good years left, replacing it now is money you did not need to spend yet.
How We Work
What a Tear-Off Day Actually Looks Like
We tarp the beds and the walls before anything comes off, and we dumpster on site rather than piling debris in the yard.
Old material comes off down to the deck. Every sheet gets looked at, and anything soft gets replaced — we show you what we found and what we did about it rather than quietly covering it.
Then underlayment, then ice and water shield in the valleys and at the eaves, then the roof itself, then the trim and the flashing by hand.
Before we leave we run a magnet over the drive and the lawn for nails. Most houses are two to four days start to finish.

How do I know whether I need a replacement or a repair?
If the failure is localised — a flashing, a pipe boot, storm damage in one area — it is a repair. If the shingle is curling and shedding granules across the whole roof, it has reached the end of its life and repairs are just instalments. We will tell you which you have.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Two to four days for most houses. Steep pitches, several dormers and complicated valleys add time, because the hand-formed trim work is what takes the hours.
Will you replace rotten decking?
Yes, and we show you. Deck condition is not fully knowable until the old roof is off, so we quote a per-sheet rate up front and you only pay for what was actually bad.
Do you work with insurance after storm damage?
We document everything with photographs and give you a written scope for your adjuster. We do not file the claim for you and we will not promise an outcome before your insurer has seen the roof.
Should I replace my gutters at the same time?
Usually yes. The gutter has to be hung to suit the new roof edge, and doing both as one job avoids paying twice for the same setup.
